Learning to feed herself!!!

Emercyn's in the process of learning to use a spoon!! Yay! She can't get the food on the spoon yet, so we still do that for her.....but she is very good at getting the spoon in her mouth! :)

Animal Sounds

Emercyn's learned a few animal sounds!!

She knows dog very well, and does it all day long....if she hears one of our dogs bark, if she sees a dog on tv, etc. She says "whoo whoo" (her interpretation of woof woof)!

She also says "cack cack" for a duck.

She can do an elk and a turkey....but not quite as good as the others. Her daddy taught her these!!

Santa!!

We took Emercyn to see Santa yesterday. She did not enjoy it! She was scared of him. :( The moment I sat her in his lap, she started bawling! The pictures were just so sad! So, Jason and I ended up in the picture. Oh well! At least she's not crying!

Thanksgiving!!!

Emercyn had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! She got to spend time with Nana and Popa AND Gramma and Grandad! She had so much fun!

She really enjoyed Great-Grandma Thelma's cooking. She ate lots of dressing, mashed potatoes, ham and corn. Yummy!!

Halloween 2007

The Lion (aka Emercyn) had a great Halloween!! The face painting wasn't her favorite, and the HOT costume wasn't either. But she still had a good time. She was super tired, and the pictures show that! Isn't she the cutest lion you've ever seen???? Her cousin Mattie, dressed as the most adorable Cinderella, came too!

I left E and Jason at home all day while I went to "An Affair of the Heart" with my mom and sister. Jason took her outside and they had a blast! He said they had a great day together!! He got some really cute pics.....enjoy!!

More Signs!!!

Just thought I'd brag a bit about the new signs Emercyn knows!!

"More"
"Milk"
"Eat"
"All Done"
"Drink"

She uses each of these correctly, which makes things a lot easier for me!! Sometimes she'll go in the kitchen and do the "eat" sign when she's hungry. When she's eating, she'll do the "milk" sign when she wants a drink. She'll do the "all done" sign when she's done and ready to get down. It's so great! I'm definitely teaching all of my children sign language!! I'm currently working on the "sleep" sign, and would like to teach her the "dirty diaper" sign....but have yet to find that one!! :)

LOOK OUT!

Just within the past week, she's really taken off with walking. She is all over the place now!!! She absolutely does not want to be carried anywhere....she wants to walk! Last night, a simple trip to Wal-Mart turned into a CRAZY trip to Wal-Mart!! :) Jason and I had to take turns letting her walk up and down the isles while the other shopped!! I guess this is only the beginning!!

We've got a walker!!

Emercyn's now "walking"!! I put it in quotations because she's still VERY shaky and unsure about the whole thing. She was taking about 2 steps and then falling down. Now, she'll take around 8-10 steps. Of course, she'll still crawl if it will get her to her destination quicker. I'm sure it will be just a matter of time before she's off running!!! Yay for Miss Emercyn!!!!

New Words!!!

New words!! New words!!

Emercyn can now say "ball" and "baby"!!! Yippee!! She only refers to a certain baby as "baby". It's the one she sleeps with at night. I guess to her, that's the only important baby!! :)

My sister (Lindsay) took Emercyn's 1 year pictures this week. They turned out so good!! She wasn't really in the best mood, so Lindsay and I did everything possible to make her smile. It was hard work! We ended up with some amazing pictures!! Just wanted to share a few of my favorites!!
